Crafted in Japan T + 6 digits 2007-2008. 2007 was another transitional year for Japanese-made Fender instruments, with the return to the “Made in Japan” country-of-origin identifier on the serial number decal. This was a running change, and both “Made in Japan” and “Crafted in Japan” decals appear on instruments from 2007 and 2008.
Another significant difference between the Precision and Jazz Basses is in their neck shapes. The nut on the Jazz Bass neck is 1.5″ wide, whereas the Precision has a 1.625″ nut. Jun 18, 2006. To me the Geddy Lee Jazz bass is the best Jazz Bass that Fender has ever made. The US Geddys have a beefier neck than the MIJ ones and they aren't quite as growly but the hardware on the MIA ones is better.
