Ijust randomly charge mine whenever I think about it, usually when I'm sitting at my desk with my iPhone right there, several times per day even. It only takes a few minutes to charge because I haven't let the battery get down below fifty percent since I've had it. I usually charge when it's around 80%, so it doesn't even take a half-hour.
Yes it will tell you when it's entering conservation mode but that's not low battery battery alert - that's an alert telling you that it'll be mostly shut down until you charge it. If I am in the middle of a long workout, that can kill the watch. If I'm away from home, then I basically lose the use of the watch until I'm back home.
